Problem

The Doroslovo community, including the local school, lacked a computer learning center and access to computer technology for educational and public information services.

Solution

Establish a community computer center in the Doroslovo cultural center facilitating its use to the entire community. The community computer center was established with the following equipment: 14 Intel Pentium IV computers, 1 HP 2200 printer, 1 Panasonic fax machine, 1 HP Genius Mustek scanner, and 1 Canon copy machine.

Impact

The Doroslovo community computer center now serves as a major hub of educational activities in the community with non-stop use by students, youth, adults, and civic organizations. The creativity of the town has been bolstered through this new resource. In August 2002, when the town celebrated its 250th anniversary, the computers were proudly featured presenting a multimedia show of the historical heritage of Doroslovo.
